Chalon is less than an hour from Dijon and around one hour and a half from Lyon. Situated close to the TGV station of Le Creusot-Montchanin, Chalon is on the Paris-Lyon axis.
Situated on the banks of the Saône with its marina, boat or bike rides are possible. Wine lovers can enjoy wine tastings at vineyards in Beaune and the surrounding areas such as Givry, Rully, Mercurey, Montagny, Santenay.
Chalon is an industrial town of art and heritage: its town centre with its half-timbered houses, the Saint Vincent Cathedral and its cloister, its pedestrian streets, the Ile Saint Laurent, its arts centre, museums, regional conservatory and theatres.
Each residential area has its qualities: the city centre, the Ile Saint Laurent, the citadel, Saint Cosme, and Saint des Vignes, among others.
